⚠ Common Mistakes
  • Entering an AC peak (not RMS) value into Current or Voltage.
  • Leaving power factor at 1.0 for a motor or other inductive load, which overstates real power and understates current draw.
  • Using line-to-line voltage in the three-phase line-to-neutral formula (or vice versa).
  • Using a device's nameplate/rated wattage instead of its actual running wattage when reverse-checking amps.
